C olor A Smile
is a non-profit organization that spreads smiles with cheerful drawings. Since 1986 we have been collecting crayon drawings
from school children. Every month we mail thousands of these original crayon 'masterpieces' throughout the United States.
Schools, scouting troops, youth groups and individuals supply us with drawings. The majority of our drawings are mailed
to senior citizens but we are happy to send 'smiles' to anyone who would like them.
Color A Smile
was started by Jerry Harris in Morristown, New Jersey. He first thought of the idea while in the kitchen of a friend's house.
Jerry noticed how cheerful their refrigerator door looked with all the colorful artwork from their children. Jerry's children
were not yet of the 'coloring age'. With help from his family and other volunteers,
Color A Smile was created. Over the years
Color A Smile has distributed hundreds of thousands of smiles to people across the United States. Every person on our mailing list receives a new drawing to enjoy each month.

is continually growing. We are always looking for more suppliers of drawings and we are always happy to add new names to our distribution list.

is a unique organization. Although we exist solely on donations from the public, we DO NOT perform any active fundraising. There is never a charge to receive our drawings. We do not rent, sell or exchange our mailing lists. No one will ever be solicited by a fundraiser for
Color A Smile. If you choose to make a donation to us, we sincerely thank you for your trust and support. Please do not feel obligated to donate; it is our pleasure to provide these smiles.

Q. What is Color A Smile?
A. Color A Smile
is a non-profit organization that collects crayon drawings from school children.
Every month we mail these 'crayon masterpieces' throughout the United States. People hang the
drawings on their refrigerator doors and bulletin boards. Each month we send them a new drawing
to enjoy.
Q. Who supplies the drawings for Color A Smile?
A. Anyone can send us their artwork. Our biggest suppliers are schools, scouting troops and
religious organizations. There are also many individual families who send us their children's artwork.
Q. How do we sign-up to color drawings for Color A Smile?
A. You do not sign-up or register to color drawings for our program. Simply color the drawings and send them to us. You can participate as often as you like but there is no ongoing commitment.
Q. Who receives the drawings?
A. The majority of our drawings are mailed to senior citizens but we are happy to send 'smiles' to anyone who would like to receive them. Each month we send a new drawing to every individual on our mailing list. Anyone can contact us to add a name to our list.
We also mail packages of several drawings per month to administrators of group facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living homes. These drawings can be displayed in common areas for everyone in the building to enjoy.
Q. How many drawings does Color A Smile distribute?
A. We currently mail more than 4,000 drawings every month. This number is constantly growing as more people hear about our program.
Q. What is the charge to receive Color A Smile drawings every month?
A. There is never a charge to receive our drawings. It is our pleasure to provide the smiles.
Q. How does Color A Smile get money to operate?
A. We exist on voluntary donations only! We do not perform fundraising. We do not rent, sell or exchange our mailing lists with anyone. No one should feel any obligation to donate.
